The Google Pixel 6a specs have appeared in a new leak, and have kind of confirmed some interesting information. Before we get into it, it’s worth saying that a recent leak mentioned the Pixel 6a will arrive in May.

The Google Pixel 6a specs leak reveals some interesting information

The phone may launch during Google I/O, Google’s developer conference which is expected to take place around that time. On the flip side, Google may host a separate event, or launch the phone without a special announcement.

In any case, this specs leak comes from the ‘Shadow_Leak’ tipster, from Twitter. He did make a small mistake in the original post, which he corrected in the comments. The first spec detail he mentions is the display, but it won’t be a 120Hz one, as he mentioned.

The Google Pixel 6a will feature a 6.2-inch 60Hz OLED display, and it will be flat. That display will have a display camera hole, which will be centered, as on the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro.

That is not surprising as the Pixel 6a will basically look like the Pixel 6, but it will be a little bit smaller. The device will be fueled by the Google Tensor SoC, the same SoC that fuels Google’s flagships. That is not surprising as the previous rumor suggested it.

So, how will it differ from the Pixel 6? Well, it won’t include the same camera setup. Most importantly, it won’t have the same main camera. Google opted not to include a 50-megapixel ISOCELL GN1 camera here, which is understandable.

A well-known 12.2-megapixel camera will be used

The Pixel 6a will include a 12.2-megapixel (Sony IMX363) main camera, the same camera used in a number of Pixel phones in the past. In addition to that, a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera (Sony’s IMX386 sensor) will also be used on the back.

A single 8-megapixel camera (Sony’s IMX355 sensor) will sit on the phone’s front side. Android 12 will come pre-installed on the Pixel 6a, while the device will be 8.7mm thick.

A 4,800mAh battery will also be a part of the package, and it will have the same wired charging supports as the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. In other words, it will likely support wired charging up to 21-23W, and slow down after it reaches a 50-percent charge.

The phone is tipped to arrive in 6GB and 8GB of RAM variants, with 128GB of internal storage. That storage will not be expandable, by the way.
