Just ahead of the Spring crop of smartphones, Motorola is announcing its new moto g and moto g power smartphones. These are the company’s budget offerings, which will start at $199 here in the US. Both devices will also get two years of OS updates and three years of bi-monthly security updates.

This year, both of these devices will sport high brightness mode of up to 1000 nits for a stunning display that can be seen clearly outdoors under direct sunlight. They also both have 120Hz refresh rate and Dolby Atmos is also supported. The moto g sports a 6.7-inch display, while the moto g power sports a slightly larger 6.8-inch display. Otherwise, both of these are largely the same phones.

That includes both being powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor. While the moto g has 4GB of RAM and the moto g power has 8GB of RAM. The moto g does also sport a 50-megapixel rear camera, with a 2-megapixel macro lens and an ambient light sensor. So we haven’t quite gotten rid of these macro lenses completely yet. On the front, there’s a 16-megapixel sensors taking those selfies.

The moto g will go on sale universally unlocked starting on January 30, from Amazon, Best Buy and Motorola.com. It’ll cost $199 here in the US, and also be available from T-Mobile, Metro by T-Mobile, AT&T, Cricket, Straight Talk, Total Wireless, Verizon, Boost Mobile, Xfinity Mobile, Consumer Cellular, Google Fi Wireless, Spectrum, US Cellular and Optimum Mobile in the coming months.
