Kami Vision, a smart home security company, has unveiled a new AI-powered fall detect camera at the ongoing CES 2025. Now, you may say the fall detection feature isn’t new tech. We have already seen smartwatches from Apple and Google with this life-saving feature.

However, there’s one caveat with those devices. They detect a fall only when a user is wearing them. That’s where it can get a little problematic, especially for those with age and health conditions that put them at risk for falls. Kami Vision’s new fall detection camera aims to solve that.

Kami Vision unveils an AI-powered camera that detects falls pretty accurately

The company designed the Kami Fall Detect Camera for older people. However, this is only the first time the company has delivered a device with a fall-detection feature for home use. As the name suggests, the new camera detects falls and alerts family members or caregivers to take immediate action.

The Kami Fall Detection Camera easily rotates 360 degrees and offers an 87-degree view to monitor the fall. If you own the camera, you can always permit other users to access its live view so they can check on you. Besides, other users can also be authorized to receive fall alerts.

Not to forget, there’s a built-in two-way communication feature. Kami Vision claims that the camera detects the fall with 99.5 percent accuracy, which is pretty impressive. What’s interesting is that it can detect falls even if the person isn’t completely visible in the camera. Now, you must be wondering how it does all that. AI, of course!

All the fall detection features are hidden behind a subscription

As far as the price of the camera is concerned, it costs $99. All that said, the fall detection features come at a cost. Kami Vision says that the professional monitoring to verify falls requires a subscription that starts at $45 per month. The subscription will also enable automatic calls to emergency services when there’s no response to a fall. Moreover, this camera will be available in Q1 2025.
