The Vivo X200 Pro launched not long ago, first in China, and then the company pushed out a global version too. It’s a direct comparison to the Vivo X100 Pro. That’s actually the comparison that we’ll focus on today, the Vivo X100 Pro vs Vivo X200 Pro. There are actually quite a few differences between these two phones, even though they are also similar in some ways, of course.
The Vivo X200 Pro does come with more powerful hardware, of course. We do hope that this comparison will give you a good idea as to what phone to buy, and on the other hand, if the Vivo X200 Pro is worth upgrading to. We will first list their specifications, and will then move to compare their designs, displays, performance, battery, cameras, and audio output. With that being said, let’s get to it.

Vivo X100 Pro vs Vivo X200 Pro: Design
At first glance, you’ll notice quite a few similarities between these devices. They both have a centered display camera hole, curved glass, large camera oreos, and so on. There are a number of differences there, though. The Vivo X100 Pro has a curved display, as the panel curves on the left and right sides. The Vivo X200 Pro does not. It has a ‘quad micro-curved’ display, in other words, the glass on top of the display curves on all four sides (towards the very edges), but not the display itself.
The display camera hole is centered on both phones’ displays, and the bezels are very thin. The power/lock and volume rocker buttons are located on the right-hand side of both devices. Those are the only buttons that they have. There is also a difference when it comes to the frame itself. While both phones do use aluminum, the frame on the Vivo X200 Pro is flat all around, with slightly rounded edges. The ones on the Vivo X100 Pro is far from being round, while it’s also thin as both the front and back sides curve into the frame. They’re proportional.
The camera oreo on the back of the Vivo X200 Pro is a bit larger, but both have fairly large camera islands. Both phones also include three cameras inside of those camera islands. These two smartphones are quite slippery, due to their build, and they’re both IP68 certified. The Vivo X200 Pro is also IP69 certified. These two smartphones are very similar in terms of weight, the difference is only a couple of grams. The Vivo X200 Pro is a bit shorter and wider, while it’s slightly thinner too.
Vivo X100 Pro vs Vivo X200 Pro: Display
The Vivo X100 Pro features a 6.78-inch 2800 x 1260 LTPO AMOLED display. That panel is curved, and it can project up to 1 billion colors. It supports an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz, HDR10+ content is also supported, and the panel goes up to 3,000 nits of brightness, in theory. The screen-to-body ratio is at around 90%, while the display aspect ratio is 20:9.
The Vivo X200 Pro, on the flip side, features a 6.78-inch 2800 x 1260 LTPO AMOLED display. Unlike the Vivo X100 Pro’s panel, this display is flat, with a curved display on top. This panel can project up to 1 billion colors, and it offers an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz. HDR10+ content is also supported, as is Dolby Vision. This panel goes up to 4,500 nits of brightness at its peak, in theory. The screen-to-body ratio is at around 90%, while the display aspect ratio is 20:9. Armor Glass protects this panel.
Both of these panels are outstanding, actually. They’re both vivid and more than sharp enough, while the viewing angles are also great. The touch response is good, and the blacks are as deep as you’d expect them out of AMOLED displays. Both of these displays are more than bright enough, and they both also have a high refresh rate, which is always good to see. There’s not much to complain about on either side, you’ll be more than happy with either of these displays.
Vivo X100 Pro vs Vivo X200 Pro: Performance
The MediaTek Dimensity 9300 fuels the Vivo X100 Pro. That is a 4nm processor, MediaTek’s flagship chip for last year. That chip is combined with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage. The Vivo X200 Pro is fueled by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC, which is a 3nm processor. That is the latest and greatest chip from MediaTek, the company’s new flagship chip. This phone comes with up to 16GB of RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage.
In regards to day-to-day performance, both phones are great. These chips are immensely powerful, while Vivo didn’t cut corners in the RAM or storage departments either. They both open apps really fast, don’t show any signs of lag, and are also great at multitasking. Truth be said the Vivo X200 Pro does seem a bit faster, but the difference is not that noticeable. They’re both great performers.
The same can be said for gaming, actually. They can run any game you can think of without a problem. The Vivo X200 Pro does heat up a bit less than the Vivo X100 Pro, that’s worth noting. They both do get quite warm after prolonged gaming sessions, though. The MediaTek Dimensity 9400 is a better chip, though, in basically every way. Its predecessor is still quite powerful, and it shows. The Vivo X100 Pro can keep up.
Vivo X100 Pro vs Vivo X200 Pro: Battery
The Vivo X100 Pro comes with a 5,400mAh battery, while the Vivo X200 Pro includes a 6,000mAh battery pack. It is worth noting that the Vivo X200 Pro does include a silicon-carbon battery, hence the jump in capacity. The Vivo X200 Pro, without a doubt, offers a better battery life. Not only does it offer more battery capacity, but the chip on the inside is more power efficient than the Dimensity 9300.
Battery longevity will depend on your usage, of course. The Vivo X200 Pro does offer around 15-20% improvement in terms of battery life, based on what we’ve seen. On some occasions, the difference was even more noticeable than that. The Vivo X200 Pro was more generally more constant in terms of battery life. Even power users will be happy with the battery longevity here, the Dimensity 9400 is much better at power consumption than originally expected.
Both of these smartphones include immensely fast charging. The Vivo X100 Pro comes with 100W wired, 50W wireless, and reverse wired charging. The Vivo X200 Pro supports 90W wired, 30W wireless, and reverse wired charging. Chargers are included with both smartphones, by the way. Yes, the Vivo X100 Pro does charge a little bit faster, but they’re basically on the same level in terms of wired charging. The older model is a bit faster wirelessly.
Vivo X100 Pro vs Vivo X200 Pro: Cameras
The Vivo X100 Pro has three 50-megapixel cameras. The main camera on the phone is a 1-inch type camera, while a 50-megapixel ultrawide unit (119-degree FoV, 1/2.76-inch sensor size) is also included. There is also a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto unit (1/2.51-inch sensor size, 4.3x optical zoom). The Vivo X200 Pro, on the other hand, has a 50-megapixel main camera (1/1.28-inch sensor), a 50-megapixel ultrawide unit (119-degree FoV, 1/2.76-inch sensor), and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto unit (1/1.4-inch sensor size, 3.7x optical zoom).
Both of these smartphones are outstanding when it comes to photography. Both of them also have ZEISS optics as part of the package. The pictures do end up looking different, though. The Vivo X200 Pro has better colors, and it actually does a slightly better job with shadows. The images from the Vivo X100 Pro do end up looking sharper if you pixel-peep, so the details are a bit better overall. Both smartphones do a great job of balancing out shots, while low-light performance is great on both too.
Their ultrawide cameras keep a good balance with the main cameras in terms of colors, but they’re nowhere near good in terms of quality. They’re good, but nowhere near the main cameras. The Vivo X200 Pro does stand out with its periscope telephoto camera, however. It’s miles ahead of what the Vivo X100 Pro is using. In does a lot better job in low light, while the improvement is also visible in daylight, easily. That camera does a fantastic job with portraits, and it also does great with macro photography. It’s easily one of the best periscope telephoto cameras out there, if not the best one.
Audio
There is a set of stereo speakers included on both of these smartphones. Those speakers are actually very similar in terms of performance too. They’re both more than loud enough, while the sound quality is good on both. As I said, the output is very similar.
What you will not find on either phone is an audio jack. You can connect your wired headphones via the Type-C port that is included on both phones, though, so no worries there. You will need a dongle, however. Bluetooth 5.4 is included on both devices for wireless connectivity.
