The Samsung Galaxy A56 has just cleared one of the last pre-launch obstacles. To be more specific, the phone has been certified by Bluetooth SIG. Needless to say, this indicates that the device is coming soon.

The Samsung Galaxy A56 has just cleared one of the last pre-launch obstacles

It appeared with the SM-A566B_DS model number, which is one of its global model numbers. This certification also makes it clear that the phone will be announced as the Samsung Galaxy A56 5G. Its full name has been mentioned. This certification also confirms that Bluetooth 5.4 will be included, an improvement over Bluetooth 5.3 on the Galaxy A55.

We’ve exclusively revealed the design of this smartphone quite recently. Those were CAD-based renders, but as per usual, they’re more than enough to show us exactly what the phone will look like.

The Galaxy A56 5G will have a flat frame all around, with slightly rounded edges. The front and back sides will be flat, and a display camera hole will be placed at the top of the display, and also centered.

It will include a ‘Key Island’ on the right

The so-called ‘Key Island’ will sit on the right side of the phone. That will be a protruding portion of the frame where the power/lock and volume up and down buttons will sit. Samsung will use an aluminum frame here, by the way.

The bezels will seemingly be thin, but not uniform. The camera island on the back will protrude a bit. Those cameras will be vertically aligned in the top-left corner on the back of the phone.

This smartphone is expected to support 45W wired charging, and the Exynos 1580 SoC is expected to fuel the device.

What’s interesting is that the Galaxy A55 was launched in March 2024, while its predecessor arrived in March 2023. If Samsung intends on sticking to that release cycle, we won’t be seeing this phone anytime soon. Samsung could have changed things up this time around, though, we’ll see.
