Threads is working on a feature that would enable users to schedule their posts. According to Meta exec Adam Mosseri, this feature will be available to test soon. Users will be able to set a date and time for their posts to go live. The new scheduling feature will not apply to replies on existing posts.
The scheduling feature will be useful for brands and creators. The new feature will make it easier to plan content for users and other managers of professional accounts.
Users will only be able to schedule new posts
Threads users won’t be able to schedule replies to existing conversations. “We want to balance giving people more control to plan their Threads posts while still encouraging real-time conversation,” Mosseri said. The company has been working on this feature for months and will test it before rolling it out widely. However, Mosseri did not specify a timeline for when the feature might become available widely.
Interestingly, Threads already has third-party tools that allow post scheduling but most of them require a paid subscription. By introducing this natively in the app, Meta is giving a free option to its growing user base of over 300 million monthly active users and 100 million daily active users.
If you’re participating in the test, tap the three-dot menu on the composer to schedule your post for later. Select the date and time you want it to go live, then tap Schedule. Scheduled posts will be saved in your drafts folder. You can also edit or delete a scheduled post from there if needed.
Threads adds more new features
Besides post-scheduling, Threads is also testing other features. One of them is a new post-analytics tool. This will give users more insight into how their content is performing.
Another feature that is currently being tested is curated profile collections. This feature will make it easier for users to discover and follow accounts based on popular topics so they can connect with communities and content relevant to them.
Threads has also introduced an advanced search feature to make content discovery easier. The new search tool has new filters to search for posts by profile and date range. This makes finding specific content faster and easier.
