Since I get a lot of review units in, and get to experience a lot of unique tech products, it’s kind of rare that I actually buy something. but the Ray-Ban Meta glasses are one product that I spent my own money on. And I have to say, it’s the best tech purchase I made this year, and perhaps ever. The good news now is, that you can get a pair for just $239, and on top of that, Amazon will give you a $90 digital credit with the code WAYFARER90 at checkout.
That’s $60 off of the regular price, plus another $90 to spend on Amazon later on. Now these are for the regular glasses, without a prescription. But the good news is that you can buy lenses separately and pop them in yourself. A good option is Lensabl which offers pretty cheap lenses that fit the Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer.
So, why do I like these glasses so much? Well, it comes down to the camera. Meta has included a 12-megapixel camera in these glasses that can be used to take photos and video. Unfortunately, it’s not quite the right size for landscape or portrait video, as it’s closer to a square. However, the wide angle of this lens makes it easy to zoom in and crop. I’ve taken some really incredible pictures with these glasses. In fact, just last week I was in Bali with OPPO for its Find X8 Global Launch, and got some amazing photos at Kelingking beach, and at other places in Bali.
But the camera isn’t the only thing that’s great about these glasses. It also has speaker that sit right above your ears and can be used for streaming music, taking phone calls and more. You can also use it with Meta AI, to translate signs in foreign countries, ask Meta AI what it sees and more. These glasses are truly amazing, and the best part is, they look like regular Ray-Ban glasses!
