OPPO Find X8 vs OPPO Find X8 Pro: Design

Other than the difference in terms of general size, there’s not much difference design-wise. The OPPO Find X8 Pro does have a slightly larger camera oreo on the back, but that’s about it. They are both made out of aluminum and glass, and they both have flat displays. Those are micro quad-curved panels, though. So they’re flat displays but with slight curves on the edges. The same goes for their backplates, the two glass plates are proportionally curved.

You’ll notice a display camera hole at the top of both displays. The bezels are both thin and uniform on both devices, though the ones on the Find X8 are slightly thinner. The power/lock and volume up and down buttons sit on the right-hand side. A camera oreo is placed on the back of both devices. The Find X8 Pro does include one extra camera, as it has a total of four cameras inside that camera module. The camera bump is not nearly as pronounced as you’d think, as OPPO managed to thin it down.

The OPPO Find X8 Pro is taller, wider, and slightly thicker than the Find X8. That’s not surprising as it has a larger display. It is also 22 grams heavier than the Find X8, with a total of 215 grams of heft. Both smartphones are slippery, and both are IP68 and IP69 certified for water and dust resistance. They do feel like premium devices in the hand, though. The Find X8 is easier to use with one hand due to its size, though neither is exactly a one-handed smartphone.

OPPO Find X8 vs OPPO Find X8 Pro: Display

The OPPO Find X8 features a 6.59-inch 2760 x 1256 AMOLED display. Tha panel offers a 120Hz refresh rate, while it’s also flat. It can project up to 1 billion colors, and has Dolby Vision support. HDR10+ content is also supported. The peak brightness here is 4,500 nits, while the screen-to-body ratio is at around 90%. The bezels here are only 1.45mm thick, and they’re symmetrical.

The OPPO Find X8 Pro, on the flip side, has a 6.78-inch 2780 x 1264 LTPO AMOLED display. That panel is also flat with a quad-curved glass on top, and it’s an LTPO display. Its refresh rate goes from 1 to 120Hz when needed, and Dolby Vision is supported. HDR10+ content is also supported here, and the peak brightness is 4,500 nits. The screen-to-body ratio is at around 89%, while Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protects this phone’s display.

The bottom line is, both of these displays are great. They are both very sharp, and also very vivid too. The viewing angles are outstanding on both displays, and both panels get immensely bright when you need them to. The touch response is great, and high-frequency PWM dimming is also a part of the package on both sides. Both displays also offer high refresh rate for added smoothness. We really don’t have any complaints here.

OPPO Find X8 vs OPPO Find X8 Pro: Performance

The MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC fuels both of these smartphones. Both devices offer up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage. The storage is not expandable, though, in case you’re wondering. That chip is MediaTek’s most powerful offering thus far, and one of the best chips available in the market now. It’s a direct competitor to the Snapdragon 8 Elite, and it’s actually great.

The performance of both of these smartphones is outstanding. They’re extremely smooth during regular, everyday use. Jumping between apps is very smooth, as is general multitasking on the phone. Browsing, messaging, sending emails, image editing… and a ton of other actions, everything went without a hitch. There’s really nothing to worry about from the performance side of things.

Even when gaming is concerned, you’re good to go. This processor is great in that regard too. If you’re worried about heat, you don’t have to be. We’ve ran some of the most demanding games on both devices, and both of them handled them with ease. Yes, they do get warm, but that’s about it. Both of them have a considerable vapor chamber, a graphite layer, and also a thermal conductive gel which helps with heat dissipation. OPPO did a great job in that regard, to say the least.

OPPO Find X8 vs OPPO Find X8 Pro: Battery

The OPPO Find X8 features a 5,630mAh battery on the inside, while the OPPO Find X8 Pro comes with a 5,910mAh battery. You’ll be glad to know that both smartphones offer great battery life. Yes, the ‘Pro’ model did last a bit longer for us, but the difference was barely there. The Pro’s battery life was on par with the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which did great in terms of battery life. The OPPO Find X8 trumped the Pixel 9 Pro, which offered outstanding battery life too.

You can easily go the distance with both of these smartphones and get high screen-on times. Depending on your usage, you can push them over 7-8 hours of screen-on time, sure. Your mileage will vary, though, of course, as there are just so many variables to consider when it comes to battery life. The bottom line is, however, that both devices do an outstanding job in that regard. Battery life is not something you should worry about here.

What about charging? Well, both devices support 80W wired SuperVOOC charging, and 50W wireless charging too. On top of that, 10W reverse wireless charging is also on offer here. The charger is also at your disposal. Both smartphones can be fully charged in less than an hour, as far as wired charging is concerned. That’s great considering their huge batteries. Wireless charging will take a bit longer, but it’s still quite fast.

OPPO Find X8 vs OPPO Find X8 Pro: Cameras

The OPPO Find X8 has three 50-megapixel cameras on the back, while the ‘Pro’ model has four. There are some differences here, though. The Find X8 includes a 50-megapixel main camera (Sony’s LYT-700 sensor, f/1.6 aperture, 1/1.56-inch sensor, OIS), along with a 50-megapixel ultrawide unit (120-degree FoV, f/2.0 aperture), and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera (3x optical zoom, Sony’s LYT-600 sensor).

The OPPO Find X8 Pro, on the other hand, has a 50-megapixel main camera (Sony LYT-808 1/1.4-inch sensor, f/1.6 aperture, OIS), a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera (120-degree FoV, f/2.0 aperture), a 50-megapixel 3x periscope telephoto camera (Sony LYT-600 sensor, 1/2.51-inch sensor, f/2.6 aperture), and a 50-megapixel 6x periscope telephoto unit (Sony’s IMX858 1/2.51-inch sensor, f/4.3 aperture).

Yes, the ‘Pro’ model technically has a better camera setup. It’s more flexible in terms of zoom ranges, and it has a better main camera. The Find X8 does a remarkably good job, though. The main camera samples are very close in terms of quality, though the ‘Pro’ can provide better shots. The dynamic range is great, and the color tuning is almost perfect. Hasselblad really stepped up for both OPPO and OnePlus in that regard. Ultrawide shots are good, and in line with the main camera in terms of color science.

Both smartphones also do a great job in low light, especially when it comes to their main cameras. Though yes, more of a difference is visible between devices in such conditions. The Find X8 Pro definitely does a better job. HDR situations are something both phones handle with ease.

Audio

You’ll find a set of stereo speakers on both smartphones. Those speakers are very good on both phones, though the ones on the regular model are a bit louder. The difference is so small that most of you won’t even notice it, however. The sound quality is good on both.

Neither phone offers an audio jack, but you can hook up your wired headphones via their Type-C ports if you want. Alternatively, Bluetooth 5.4 is on offer for wireless connectivity on both smartphones.
