OnePlus has just announced its new flagship, the OnePlus 13. We had plenty of information about this phone as the company has been releasing details bit by bit for a while now. Plenty of info leaked too. Do note that it launched in China, that’s its initial launch. The global launch will follow later on.
The OnePlus 13 does offer a different design, despite the fact it may look similar at first glance
Let’s kick things off by talking about its design. At first glance, it may look like not much has changed, but it has. The OnePlus 13 has flat sides, and a flat display this time around. The opposite was true with the OnePlus 12. So the in-hand feel should be considerably different, and the general usage.
The phone is made out of metal and glass once again, though. It also has a familiar-looking camera, a round camera island in the top-left corner. Three cameras sit on the inside, and the camera oreo does protrude on the back.
The power/lock and volume rocker buttons are located on the right-hand side of the phone. On the left, you’ll find an alert slider. There is also an IR blaster at the top of the device, in case you were wondering. No audio jack, though, as expected.
Qualcomm’s most powerful SoC is included, along with up to 24GB of RAM
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor fuels the OnePlus 13. That is the company’s new flagship which was announced quite recently. The OnePlus 13 comes in 12GB; 16GB, and 24GB RAM (LPDDR5X) flavors in China. The same goes for 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage (UFS 4.0) options.
A 6.82-inch 3168 x 1440 BOE X2 AMOLED display is included here. That panel is flat, and it’s an LTPO display. It offers an adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120Hz, while the peak brightness is 4,500 nits. High-frequency PWM dimming is also included.
The OnePlus 13 has a huge battery, along with 100W wired & 50W wireless charging support
A 6,000mAh battery sits on the inside of the phone. That is a notable improvement, despite the fact the OnePlus 12 offered oustanding battery life. The phone also supports 100W wired, 50W wireless, and 10W reverse wireless charging. Yes, the charger is included in the box.
OnePlus included three cameras on the back. A 50-megapixel main camera (Sony’s LYT-808) is backed by a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera (114-degree FoV), and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto unit (1/1.95-inch sensor size, 3x optical zoom). Hasselblad is a part of the picture too. A 32-megapixel front-facing camera is on offer.
Android 15 comes out of the box, while the fingerprint scanner also received a major upgrade
Android 15 comes pre-installed on the device, along with ColorOS 15 in China. OxygenOS 15 will be included on the global model. Rain Touch 2.0 is also a part of the package, it’s supposed to make the display usable when wet. OnePlus also upgraded its in-display fingerprint scanner to an ultrasonic one.
The device measures 162.9 x 76.5 x 8.5mm, while it weighs 213 grams. It comes in Blue Moment (blue), Dew Morning Light (white), and Obsidian Black (black) colors. Do note that the blue model has vegan leather on the back, and it’s a bit lighter and a bit thicker (210 grams, 8.8mm). The phone’s pricing starts at CNY4,499 ($632) in China. It will be more expensive globally.
