The OnePlus 13 will launch in October this year. It will be one of the first devices to equip the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip. While there isn’t enough official information, we have already come across several rumors about the specifications of the OnePlus 13. The latest rumor is about the RAM size.
OnePlus 13 to pack 24GB LPDDR5X RAM
The rumor comes from Weibo (a Chinese microblogging site) tipster Digital Chat Station, who claims that the OnePlus 13 will pack up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM. He also mentioned that the OnePlus 13 will be the only device to launch this year with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset.
Notably, this isn’t the first time OnePlus is offering 24GB RAM. The OnePlus 12 also packs up to 24GB RAM and 1TB internal storage. Users can expect the same configuration from OnePlus 13.
However, it’s also reported that the 24GB RAM variant will remain exclusive to China, similar to the predecessor. That means the 16GB variant will be the top-end model outside China. Nonetheless, it is still higher than what we have seen with the Galaxy S24 Ultra and the iPhone 16 series devices.
In addition to that, the tipster also speculates that OnePlus may also increase the price of the 24GB variant this time.
What to expect from OnePlus 13?
The OnePlus 13 has already appeared on Geekbench with 16GB RAM confirming a flagship performance. The phone scored 3,236 in the single-core tests and 10,049 in the multi-core tests. For context, Apple’s A18 chip scored around 3,114 and 6,666 points on the same test. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset is due to launch next month.
On the outside, the phone is tipped to feature a 6.82-inch 2K OLED 10-bit LTPO BOE X2 micro-curved display. OnePlus has already confirmed that a future phone will feature the BOE X2 display.
Speaking of cameras, the OnePlus 13 is rumored to pack a 50MP Sony LYT808 sensor with 1/1.4 aperture, a 50MP LYT600 periscope lens, and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens at the back. To power the system, there will be a massive 6000/6100mAh battery that also supports 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging support. Users should also expect an IP69 dust and water resistance rating, which will also be a significant upgrade as compared to its predecessor.
