NVIDIA has just released a new GeForce Game Ready driver for God of War Ragnarok and Final Fantasy XVI. Both of these new games are coming to PC this month. They’ll allow players who don’t own a PS5 to experience excellent storytelling and awesome action combat. While exclusive to PlayStation consoles for a time, both God of War Ragnarok and Final Fantasy XVI were confirmed to be getting their official PC ports earlier this year.

God Of War Ragnarok was announced for PC back in May. Final Fantasy XVI, meanwhile, was announced for PC back in mid-August. If you’re running an NVIDIA GPU inside your PC, then you’ll want to make sure that your GeForce driver is updated to the latest version so you get the most out of these games. The Game Ready driver will also prep your PC for EA Sports FC 25. You can easily update the drivers using NVIDIA’s GeForce Experience app.

This isn’t the only place you can download the driver though. It’s also possible to download and install the driver through the NVIDIA beta app. Additionally, you can update through the GeForce.com Driver Feedback Forum. If you don’t want the hassle of manually installing the drivers, either the GeForce Experience app or the NVIDIA beta app will be much more convenient.

The new GeForce Game Ready driver adds day one DLSS 3 support for Final Fantasy XVI

Final Fantasy XVI will be released on PC on September 17, which is next week. While just the game coming to PC at all is great, it’s even better knowing there will be some advanced NVIDIA GPU features available to enhance the gameplay experience further. This will include day one support of DLSS 3, DLAA, DLSS Super Resolution, and DLSS Frame Generation. NVIDIA says it will support Reflex too.

Some of the features, like DLSS 3 and Frame Generation, for example, will require an RTX 40-series GPU. But you will still get DLSS 2 benefits if you’re running an RTX 30-series GPU. In fact you’ll just want the new driver regardless of which card you’re running.

If you’re simply curious to see how your PC will run the game, and what kinds of graphics settings you can use, the Final Fantasy XVI demo is already available on Steam for download. So you can play through the beginning prologue and test things out.

When it comes to God Of War Ragnarok, it will also support NVIDIA Reflex, DLSS 3, DLSS Super Resolution, and DLSS Frame Generation. This game releases on Steam on September 19.

Take a peek at the optimal settings for over 1,200 games

Outside of the new games getting support for these NVIDIA features, there are several others that you might want to check out too. Right now NVIDIA says there are over 1,200 games that have support for advanced NVIDIA GPU features. Specifically, these games have optimal settings you can enable through the GeForce Experience app. The optimal settings feature is a way to let the GeForce Experience app handle all the tuning for you.

Granted, you might still want to check the settings out yourself and tweak each graphics setting individually. That way you can find a nice balance of fidelity and performance that suits your personal tastes. However, if you don’t want to mess around and just want things to be easy, just click the optimal settings for your favorite games. Some of the more recent titles that have gained support include Black Myth: Wukong, Star Wars Outlaws, and F1 Manager. Those first two can also be played via GeForce NOW. This is a great option if you don’t have a PC that can really handle these games well.
