After leaking the first renders of the Galaxy S25 Ultra earlier this week, it’s now time to take the cover off of the Galaxy S25.

This is the vanilla Galaxy S25, which we expect to sport a 6.17-inch display, though it will likely get rounded up and be marketed as a 6.2-inch display. Just like the current Galaxy S24. Dimensions are slightly smaller on the Galaxy S25, versus the Galaxy S24 in virtually every way. It’ll be roughly 146.9 x 70.4 x 7.2mm. While the Galaxy S24 was 147 x 70.6 x 7.6mm.

We’ve seen rumors claiming that Samsung will use an Exynos chipset globally for the Galaxy S25 series, but we’ve also seen a rumor claiming the opposite. And that Samsung would use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 globally, which makes more sense. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is set to be unveiled next month, and so far it has been looking pretty powerful in leaked benchmarks. In fact, it appears to be beating the new A18 Pro from Apple, though neither processor is actually available in consumers’ hands just yet. It’s also looking to have some pretty incredible clock speeds, including a max clock speed of 4.32GHz.

Samsung is expected to boost RAM up to 12GB on the non-Ultra models. And it should also start with 128GB of storage once again. The battery will also likely remain the same this coming year, at 4,000mAh.

As we can see from the renders here from Onleaks, the design isn’t changing much. However, it appears that the Galaxy S25 will be getting rings for the cameras and slightly slimmer bezels. Otherwise, the flat sides remain, which appears to be a design decision among all smartphone makers these days. Google also opted for flat sides on the Pixel 9 last month.

Samsung is expected to announce Galaxy S25 in early January 2025

Each year, Samsung has announced the Galaxy S series a little bit earlier. So, Galaxy S22 was announced on February 9, Galaxy S23 on February 1, and Galaxy S24 on January 17. We expect that the Galaxy S25 series will likely be announced on the week of January 13. Samsung really can’t go much earlier than that, due to CES taking place from January 7 until January 10.
