Nanoleaf has announced its latest lighting product this week called Blocks and these new panels are a neat way to customize your game room. Adding to the growing lineup of different shapes Nanoleaf offers, Blocks come in squares of varying sizes, and like most of Nanoleaf’s other options, they sync together for a complete lighting experience that lights up your room.
They do more than just add lighting to your space, though, as the Blocks panels come in a few different types. There are Blocks Squares and Blocks Small Squares, which are just like the Triangles and Hexagons panels in large and small sizes. Where things start to differentiate are with the remaining three types. Blocks Textured Squares are sort of like the regular Squares but with a 3D look to them for some added style. The most exciting of the bunch are the Blocks Shelves and Blocks Light Pegboard.
With the Shelves, you can easily display your figurines, plants, or anything else you might want on a shelf. With the Light Pegboard, you can slot in hooks to mount your controllers, headphones, and other gaming and tech accessories. And the beauty of it all is that they mix and match. So you can work in the shelves and pegboard panels with the regular ones.
Nanoleaf Blocks panels have edge-to-edge lighting
This is perhaps one of the bigger details of this announcement. Nanoleaf’s lighting products are extremely popular, and for good reason. But a common complaint has been that the light panels have darker spots where the lighting isn’t as bright and that there are corners of the panels that have no lighting at all. Nanoleaf has taken those criticisms to heart and has made the Blocks offer edge-to-edge lighting. So every bit of surface area has light coming through.
Nanoleaf says that this should also help ensure there aren’t any dark spots like with its other Shapes panels.
Blocks have support for Google Home, Apple Home, and more
All of Nanoleaf’s products so far have worked over Wi-Fi and that isn’t stopping here. Blocks will connect to your network the same way. You can also use the companion app on your phone to control everything from scenes to brightness. You can also use your voice to control the lights through Google Home, Apple Home, Alexa, and Samsung SmartThings.
They support screen mirroring too. You can set up screen mirroring with the Blocks in two ways. Via the PC app, or by syncing Blocks with the Nanoleaf 4D camera kit, which makes it possible to mirror anything on your screen and not just what’s visible on your PC. Nanoleaf Blocks go up for pre-order today and start at $199.99 for the Blocks Squares Smarter Kit. There’s also the Combo XL bundle that includes some of the Blocks Shelves and Blocks Light Pegboard panels for $249.99.
