This week will see the IFA 2024 kickoff, where many big brands will be launching new key products. Lenovo is one of those companies, but you won’t have to wait long to find out everything they will be introducing. A big leak has revealed all of Lenovo’s upcoming laptops, including tech specs, pricing, and availability details.
It seems that the company doesn’t want to leave any segment uncovered with its new lineup. The leak reveals that Lenovo will be announcing laptops for all tastes, including models powered by Intel, AMD, and Qualcomm chips. Lenovo is also reportedly preparing the Creator Zone rollout, its AI-powered image generator.
Big leak reveals all the details of Lenovo’s upcoming laptops
At IFA 2024, Lenovo will be unveiling the Intel-powered Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition. The Aura Edition laptops feature a series of “Smart Modes” that tweak certain parameters according to the user’s needs. The Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition will be no exception, offering up to four modes. Users will be able to choose between “Attention Mode” (blocks distracting websites), Wellness features (visual care and posture warning reminders), “Collaboration tools” (image quality improvements for video meetings), and “Shield Mode” (privacy alerts and auto prompt VPN).
Other useful features of the Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition include Smart Share and Smart Care. Smart Share is a drag-and-drop image-sharing system between phones and laptops. To trigger it, you simply need to tap the edge of the screen with a “supported smartphone.” On the other hand, Smart Care is the company’s customer service platform. Lenovo boasts of offering real-time support via chat or phone calls with its agents.
As for the tech specs of the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition, it uses 8-core Intel Core Ultra processors (Series 2). It is AI-ready thanks to its powerful NPU, which delivers over 48 TOPs. It will be available with up to 32 GB of RAM (8533MHz) and up to 1 TB of SSD storage. A 70WHr battery with some power modes will power the whole thing. As for connectivity, there are 2x Thunderbolt 4 ports, 1x USB-A (USB 3.2), 1x HDMI 2.1, and 1x audio jack.
The laptop boasts a 15.3″ 2.8K LCD display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. Other features include 4x speakers, 4x mics, WiFi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4.
Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 to be a powerful and versatile Ryzen-powered laptop
Lenovo is also launching a series of AMD-powered laptops in the coming days. The leak mentions the Yoga Pro 7 (14″, 9), IdeaPad Slim 5 (15″, 10) and IdeaPad Slim 5 (13″, 10). Starting with the Yoga Pro 7, it is another AI device (Copilot+ certified) with an NPU capable of delivering up to 50 TOPS. It includes features like X Power Software Accelerate and X Power Hardware Boost that work together to deliver a smooth and agile work experience.
The Yoga Pro 7 features a stunning 14.5″ OLED display for best-in-class picture quality. The display has 2.8K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 600 nits of peak brightness. Ryzen AI 9 chips and a powerful Radeon 780M GPU will power the device. It features up to 32 GB of LPDDR5X RAM (6400MHz, dual channel) and up to 1 TB of storage (PCIe Gen 4).
This model offers a more complete set of ports than the Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition. Particularly noteworthy are 2x USB-C (1x USB 4.0, 1x USB 3.2) ports with full functionality (video and power support). There is also a USB-A 3.2, 1x HDMI 2.1, and 1x audio jack. Other features include 4x speakers, 4x mics, WiFi 6e, and Bluetooth 5.3.
Lenovo’s IdeaPad Slim 5 series will go for thinness and portability
Lenovo’s upcoming Ryzen-powered laptop series will also bring new IdeaPad Slim 5 models. The leak claims that there are two variants with different screen sizes (15″ and 13″). AMD Ryzen 7000 chips power both, with up to 32 GB of LPDDR5X RAM (16 GB on the 13″ model). The series will have up to 1 TB (M.2 SSD).
As its name suggests, the IdeaPad Slim 5’s design is all about thinness and lightness. The devices aim to enhance productivity and entertainment wherever you are. Unlike the Yoga Pro 7, the IdeaPad Slim 5 series relies on LCD technology to cut costs. However, both displays have WUXGA resolution and cover 100% of the sRGB color space. Anyway, Lenovo will offer a variant of the IdeaPad Slim 5 15″ with a 2.5K OLED display for those looking for higher image quality.
Qualcomm chips will power the IdeaPad Slim 5x series
Lenovo is also cooking up the Snapdragon-powered IdeaPad Slim 5x series. In the coming days, the company will release the IdeaPad Slim 5x and IdeaPad Slim 5x 2-in-1. The 8-core Snapdragon X Plus chips, equipped with powerful 45 TOPS NPUs for AI processing, will power both devices. The 2-in-1 variant prioritizes versatility, albeit at the cost of some RAM and thinness.
The IdeaPad Slim 5x would have up to 32 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1 TB of SSD storage. On the other hand, the tablet-laptop hybrid version will feature a maximum of 16 GB of RAM. Anyway, both models share a 14″ display. The Lenovo IdeaPad 300 is a 60Hz WUXGA OLED with 400 nits of peak brightness and a 57 WHr battery. Other common features include 2x speakers (2W), WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, and a MicroSD reader. The port set is also unchanged, featuring 1x USB-C (power input support, PD 3.0), 2x USB-A, 1x HDMI 2.1, and 1x audio jack.
Creator Zone rollout to begin in the coming weeks
According to the leak, Lenovo will also show more details of the Creator Zone tool for its laptops. The company first showed it off in January, saying the rollout would begin this year. Creator Zone is Gen AI software capable of generating images and sketches based on prompts. It can even generate images based on sketches or “reimagine” existing ones. The company will focus the tool primarily on artists and creative professionals.
Lastly, the leak even offers pricing and availability details for all of Lenovo’s upcoming products. The Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition and Yoga Pro 7 would be available for €1,399 and €1,699, respectively. Meanwhile, the IdeaPad Slim 5x series could cost €899 (standard) and €999 (2-in-1). All these models will be available starting in September. Meanwhile, both variants of the IdeaPad Slim 5 series will be available in October for a price of €699. As for Creator Zone, the rollout could start in October, first for the Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i.
