Samsung has finally announced the Galaxy S21 FE today, and we already talked about it in our initial announcement. We’re here to take a closer look at the phone’s spec sheet. Needless to say, it does offer quite powerful specs.
The Galaxy S20 FE was known as the ‘flagship killer’ in some circles. That may not be the case with the Galaxy S21 FE considering the time of its launch, but it certainly does have compelling specs.
The Galaxy S21 FE offers quite powerful specifications
First and foremost, the device is fueled by the Snapdragon 888 SoC. That was Qualcomm’s most powerful processor before the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 launched. The Galaxy S21 FE was supposed to launch before the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, but that didn’t happen, unfortunately. The Snapdragon 888 is still plenty powerful, though.
This phone features a 6.4-inch fullHD+ (2340 x 1080) Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. That display offers a 120Hz refresh rate, and it is a flat panel. It has thin bezels, and a centered display camera hole.
Samsung decided to release two variants of the phone, one with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and the other with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. There is no microSD card expansion slot, though. Samsung didn’t say which RAM and storage it’s using, but we’re guessing LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 flash storage.
A 4,500mAh battery is included along with 25W wired, and 15W wireless charging
A 4,500mAh battery is also a part of the package here. The device does support 25W wired, and 15W wireless charging. On top of that, Wireless PowerShare is also supported aka reverse wireless charging.
Android 12 comes pre-installed on the phone, along with Samsung’s One UI skin. There are two speakers included on the device, one is bottom-firing (the main one), while the other sits above the display, and it’s front-firing.
This phone is water and dust resistant, it comes with the IP68 certification for water and dust resistance. There is a fingerprint scanner placed under the phone’s display, and it’s an optical in-display fingerprint scanner.
There are four cameras included on the device
Samsung included three cameras on the back of the phone, and one on the front. A 12-megapixel main camera (f/1.8 aperture, 79-degree FoV, Dual Pixel AF, OIS) is backed by a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera (f/2.2 aperture, 123-degree FoV). An 8-megapixel telephoto camera (f/2.4 aperture, OIS, 32-degree FoV, 3x optical zoom, 30x Space Zoom) is also included back there.
A single 32-megapixel camera (f/2.2 aperture, 81-degree FoV) sits on the phone’s front side. An NFC chip is also included, and the phone supports 5G connectivity. The Galaxy S21 FE measures 155.7 x 74.5 x 7.9mm, and weighs 177 grams. It comes in Olive, Lavender, White, and Graphite colors.
