Meta continues to add new features to encourage the creativity of creators on Instagram. The latest set of options aims to increase the ways to make your posts stand out from the crowd. Among the new features, the one to add text over photos directly from the Instagram editor seems especially useful.

In a recent blog post, Meta revealed that Instagram is getting some new options for posting content. Creators will now find a wider selection of effects, fonts, and animated text to add to their reels and stories. They will also be able to add text over an image before posting it to the feed without having to resort to external editors. Additionally, the company emphasizes that carousels now allow up to 20 photos.

More fonts and animations for reels and stories; add text on photos from Instagram’s editor

Starting with reels and stories, the additional fonts will be available from the “Text” button that appears when you edit a new one. You’ll be able to choose from several additional animations and fonts to write whatever you want on your image/video. As for feed posts, you’ll now be able to easily add text to the pictures using the Instagram editor. This makes a process that previously involved using third-party image editors much easier.

The platform made sure to include enough fonts so that everyone can find the one that best suits their style. Plus, you can use stickers to add another image over the main one. Image stickers for posts come in different shapes, like a square, circle, heart, or star. Similar options were previously available for reels and stories, but now you can also use them on regular feed posts.

Carousels now can have up to 20 pictures

Lastly, carousels make more sense with the new limit of 20 images per post. Before, you could only add up to 4 photos per post, so the option is now much more versatile. The new limit opens up new possibilities for sharing your most precious moments.

Don’t worry if the new features aren’t available in your app yet. Meta’s new option rollouts are usually phased in, so not everyone receives them at the same time. It’s just a matter of waiting a few days until you can finally enjoy them.
