Honor recently announced the Magic V3 smartphone and has now started teasing an AI suite. This iteration of Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI) appears to be backed by Google Cloud services.
Honor Magic V3 to get an AI Suite
Honor announced the Honor Magic V3 a few weeks ago. The foldable Android smartphone is one of the slimmest on the market right now. Before the Magic V3 makes its global debut, Honor has started to promote the capabilities of the foldable smartphone.
Honor has released a video that teases a variety of AI tools running on the Honor Magic V3. What’s interesting is the seemingly tight integration of Honor’s AI suite with Google Cloud.
The Honor Magic V3 will run MagicOS 8, which is a custom skin over Android OS. One of the highlights of the MagicOS 8 is the “Magic Portal”. This feature allows users to open two apps simultaneously in multitasking mode. The new Honor AI suite can seamlessly interact with multiple apps while still performing AI tasks.
Honor teases AI Eraser, Face to Face Translation, Honor Notes Live Translation, and more
A new teaser video for the Honor Magic V3 shows multiple AI features and functions. Interestingly, most of the features Honor teased seem quite similar to what Google, Samsung, and others offer.
The AI Eraser for the Magic V3 appears to function just like Google Photos’ Magic Editor. The video indicates it can erase specific objects from an image using Gen AI. The feature even has nearly identical gestures and animations.
Honor Notes Live Translation, on the other hand, seems inspired by Samsung Gen AI tools in the Galaxy AI suite. Honor’s solution is shown to listen and detect languages. It then transcribes spoken word in a clean note. Similarly, Face-to-Face Translation flashes live translation to the other person on the outer display of the Magic V3.
One of the biggest attractions of the Honor Magic V3, besides its slim profile, would be an army of AI tools that would ship with the smartphone. Even Apple won’t be able to include its “Apple Intelligence” with the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max variants at the time of their launch.
