Sony has announced the WF-C510 wireless earbuds. These belong to the company’s “Truly Wireless” line and sport a surprisingly aggressive price tag.

Sony WF-C510 budget TWS specifications and features

Sony has officially announced the WF-C510. These are new Truly Wireless Stereo (TWS) earbuds. They succeed the Sony WF-C500. As the name of the latest Sony Truly Wireless earbuds indicates, they are marginally better than the previous generation.

Sony claims the WF-C510 are the “smallest ever closed type earbuds” the company has ever produced. Although Sony hasn’t crammed a lot of features inside the Sony WF-C510, they do flaunt Ambient Sound Mode.

When the feature is activated, these earbuds allow external sound to be audible. Ambient Sound Mode allows users to be aware of their surroundings.

Sony is also offering “Voice Isolation”. As the name implies, this feature improves performance during voice and video calls by boosting particular sound frequencies associated with human voice.

Despite their miniature size, the Sony WF-C510 earbuds claim to offer five hours of “continuous communication time”. With Ambient Sound turned off, users can stretch runtime to as much as 11 hours of “general use”. The charging case can add as many as 11 hours more.

What’s the price and availability of the new budget-friendly TWS earbuds?

Sony has priced the WF-C510 very aggressively. The Sony WF-C500 had an MSRP of $89.99. The WF-C510, on the other hand, will retail for $59.99. That’s $30 less compared to the previous generation.

The Sony WF-C510 will be available in four colors — black, blue, white, and yellow. They can connect or pair with up to two Bluetooth devices at once. These earbuds also support Google’s Fast Pair and Microsoft’s Swift Pair features for quick device connections.

The Sony WF-C510 earbuds are IPX4-rated. This means users needn’t worry about sweat or occasional water splashes. However, they aren’t waterproof, and hence users must avoid swimming or bathing with them.

The WF-C510 earbuds are available for preorder now on Sony’s eCommerce platform and Amazon. Shipments are expected to commence early next month.
