The HONOR Magic V3 managed to survive a series of torture tests. These tests were performed by GSM Arena, and they come in form of a four and a half minute video clip. That video is embedded below the article.
Before we get down to it, many of you already know that the Magic V3 is HONOR’s latest foldable flagship. It already launched in China, while it will arrive to global markets during IFA in Berlin. It’s launching on September 5.
The HONOR Magic V3 survived a series of torture tests without a problem
Folks over at GSM Arena assure us that this is not a sponsored video. Also, do note that the HONOR Magic V3 is IPX8 rated for water and dust resistance, and it also has military-grade toughness rating.
The first test conducted by the source includes dropping the phone in an aquarium. That didn’t do any damage. The phone also did fine when sprinkled with water from a garden spray.
HONOR already shared a video in which the Magic V3 survived a washing machine. Well, GSM Arena just conducted a similar video to make sure it can do just that. It did, without a problem.
The phone was frozen and then thrown to the ground
While at it, why not freeze the phone, right? Well, yes, the HONOR Magic V3 managed to survive even that. The device is able to survive extreme temperatures without a problem. As if that’s not enough, the phone was then thrown to the ground (inside a block of ice), that didn’t really hurt it either.
The inner screen should be more difficult to scratch, but it does leave permanent fingernail scratches, as does every other foldable. The hinge managed to handle 5kg of weight, believe it or not.
Why not using the Magic V3 as a hammer too? Well, GSM Arena tried that too, and… well, the phone continued to work. It was even able to handle some drop tests, on both the main and cover displays.
By the looks of it, the HONOR Magic V3 is a very durable smartphone, especially for a foldable.
