Apple fans are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the iPhone 16 series. The Cupertino giant has yet to confirm an official date for the announcement of its new flagship phones. However, a reliable industry source has revealed the iPhone 16 launch date, going in line with previous reports.
iPhone 16 series may arrive on September 10; sales could begin on September 20
In recent days, insiders have suggested September 10 as the launch date for the iPhone 16 series. Some tried to take advantage of the reports to post fake invites to the alleged event. However, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman now backs up the claims about a launch on said date. According to the source, the iPhone 16 models will be available for purchase globally starting September 20.
The date coincides with Apple’s history of launching new iPhones. The company usually holds a dedicated event during the second week of September. So, it’s possible that actual invites will start to emerge as early as next week.
Some expected changes and improvements
Recent reports about the iPhone 16 series suggest that Apple will stick to a conservative line when it comes to hardware improvements. While there will be some logical upgrades, the main selling point will be access to Apple Intelligence features. Those looking for larger screens on the higher-end models are in for a treat, as the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are said to grow to 6.3 and 6.9 inches, respectively. The bezels around the Pro Max’s screen would be just 1.15mm thick. The vanilla and Plus models are said to retain the screen size of previous generations.
All models are said to feature a new “Capture” button for use with camera apps. It will not only function to take photos but also to launch your preferred camera app, including third-party ones. The vanilla and Plus variants are also said to feature an ultra-wide camera with a brighter f/2.2 aperture. So, you can expect better photos with said lens in low-light conditions. Also, Apple will return to its old strategy of using the same chip in all variants to ensure a consistent AI experience.
