LG’s 34-inch Curved OLED UltraGear gaming monitor is down to the very reasonable price of $800, making this a great deal if you’re in the market for a gaming monitor upgrade. Normally this monitor retails for $1,300 at its full retail price. However, Best Buy currently has it on sale for $800 which is a big $500 discount. That’s definitely worth it for the quality of the panel and all its awesome gaming features.
For starters, this is an OLED panel and that’s going to provide really good colors and contrasts with deep blacks and rich, vibrant colors. The monitor also supports both NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync technologies if you like taking advantage of those. What’s really awesome about this monitor though is the 34-inch ultrawide design and the 240Hz refresh rate.
It has a 0.03ms response time as well so you can more or less kiss any lag goodbye. Additionally, it supports DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1. You’ll get a blazing-fast, high-quality connection for PC and consoles. This is a really good option if you want to hook up your gaming PC and a PS5 or Xbox Series X to the same display.
In terms of total ports, you have two HDMI ports, one DisplayPort 1.4, two USB-A ports, and one USB-B port. Another really neat feature is that it has RGB lighting effects on the back of the monitor. Which you can adjust with some tweaking in the companion PC app. You generally won’t be staring at these, but if the monitor is close enough to the wall it can add some cool ambiance to the gaming aesthetic. And that’s always nice to have for immersion.
