We’re all still waiting for the next major version of Android to hit the stable channel, Android 15. While those not part of the beta will need to wait for a little while longer, those who are part of the Android 15 beta are in for a treat. The Android 15 QPR Beta 1 is now rolling out to Pixel users on the beta.
Folks using the Pixel 9 phones are still on Android 14 for the moment. Google is still getting the update ready for the masses. In any case, you can still order your Pixel 9 phone if you’re interested in what the company has to offer.
Google just released the Android 15 QPR 1 beta 1
Google’s QPR (Quarterly Platform Release) is like a gift bag of new features that the company delivers every three months to Pixel owners. We see some of Pixel’s best features from these updates. However, before the company can deliver the hottest new features to the stable channel, it needs to test them out with the beta testers. This is why the company delivers them to the beta channel.
If you’re a Pixel owner on the latest version of Android, then you won’t need to do anything. You should see the prompt to install the update soon. Google is rolling out the Android 15 QPR 1 Beta 1 today, so chances are that you’ll see it at some point today. If not, then you will see it in the next couple of days.
Most of the time, the system will automatically notify you when the update makes it to your phone. If you want to check manually, you can go to your settings, go to the System section, go to Software Update, and tap on the button to search for the update.
As a reminder, you’ll be able to get this version if you’re using any of the Pixel 8, Pixel 7, or Pixel 6 phones. These include the “A” models. Right now, we don’t know what changes Google is delivering with this update, but we will find out as people start to crack into it and test out the features.
