Instagram has introduced a new feature that lets you add songs to your profile. The Meta-owned social networking platform has debuted the new feature in collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter. The Disney Channel alum and pop star has released a teaser of her unreleased song, “Taste”, on her Instagram profile today to debut the new functionality.
Instagram’s new add songs to profile feature brings back a touch of nostalgia from the early 2000s when MySpace existed. The popular social networking platform of that time offered a similar functionality. Instagram’s new feature allows you to customize your profile even further.
Instagram’s new add songs to profile feature lets you express your mood
Instagram’s latest feature allows you to express your mood by adding songs to your profile on the platform. Thanks to the new functionality, you can share your favorite tracks and connect with other users based on their musical preferences. You can easily choose a song by clicking the edit profile option on the Instagram app. Then click the “Add music to your profile” button.
Here, you can choose a song or search for one in the For You section. Then, you can pick any 30 seconds of a song you want to feature on your Instagram profile. The music you choose will stay on your page until you pick a new song or decide to remove it.
It’s worth mentioning that the music on Instagram’s profiles won’t automatically start playing. Users will have to click the play button to hear the featured songs.
Instagram continues to add more features to improve the overall user experience
Instagram continues to create a more immersive and personalized experience for its users. The company has released many features this year to expand its efforts towards the goal. Two weeks ago, the Meta-owned social networking platform doubled the limit of photos and videos you can include in a carousel post.
Previously, you were only allowed to include 10 photos or videos in a single carousel post. Now, you can use as many as 20 photos or videos in a single post on Instagram. The company is expected to roll out more and more features later this year to grow its user base.
