The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is a magnificent device, but it’s not the slimmest foldable out there. While many companies have been struggling to trim the fat on their foldable phones, HONOR seems to have discovered the secret. Well, Samsung is working on delivering a Galaxy S Fold 6 Slim, and this phone could bring some slight differences in the camera department.
While Samsung didn’t offer too many changes this year around with its foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is still a compelling device. It has a brighter screen, better performance, a sturdier build, IP dust resistance, a stronger display, and other neat tweaks. Check out our Galaxy Z Fold 6 review if you want to know why it’s the foldable to buy.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim might have a slightly different camera
We’ve been following rumors and leaks surrounding a slimmer version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6. We all thought that, if it was any company to slim down the foldable, it would be Samsung. However, out of the most left of left fields came HONOR, the previous sub-brand of Huawei, to put every foldable phone to shame. Its upcoming Magic V3 is pretty much as thin as a regular phone when closed, which has been the goal of foldable phone makers since the beginning.
Well, thanks to a new report, we have some information about Samsung’s upcoming slim phone. The report reveals some of the possible camera specs of this phone. For starters, the device, which has the model number SM-F958N, will share the same 10MP selfie camera and 12MP ultrawide camera as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 proper.
The main difference in the camera tech will come with the slightly upgraded under-display camera. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 has a 4MP camera under the folding display. As for the Slim, it could have a 5MP camera.
As for the main and telephoto cameras, we’re still waiting for more information to surface. Since Samsung is slimming the phone down, we don’t expect a massive jump in resolution if any. For all we know, Samsung could port the entire camera setup from the Z Fold 6 over to the Slim variant. Only time will tell. Other specs like the battery size and dimensions are still up in the air, so we’re playing the waiting game for now.
