Xiaomi is currently actively developing the successors of the Xiaomi 14 series of smartphones. The company is working on three flagship products, presumably called the Xiaomi 15, 15 Pro, and the 15 Ultra. The former two are expected to launch in October this year. As for the Xiaomi 15 Ultra model, it is said to see the light of day in early 2025.
Ahead of the launch, some of their specs already leaked earlier. Now, a new leak suggests that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will flaunt a massive 200MP camera.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra aims to undercut rivals with its massive 200MP camera
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra will give stiff competition to rivals like the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro Max and Galaxy S25 Ultra in the camera department. According to the gadget tipster Ice Universe, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will flaunt a massive 200MP camera. It will likely not be the primary sensor, instead could be a periscope telephoto lens.
Furthermore, the source suggests the Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s 200MP lens will support 4x optical zooming capabilities. The flagship smartphone will have a total of four cameras at the rear. To compare, last year’s Xiaomi 14 Ultra shipped with four 50MP cameras at the back with one of them being a periscope telephoto lens.
The next “Ultra” model will boast an impressive set of specs
Xiaomi’s next “Ultra” flagship will boast an impressive set of specifications. It will be one of the first smartphones to utilize the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor. The chipset could be paired with up to 18GB of RAM. The device is rumored to sport a dual-layer OLED display bearing 2K resolution.
Furthermore, the reports suggest that the 15 Ultra could sport an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. It could boot Android 15-based HyperOS 2.0 custom skin out of the box. Similar to the other upcoming flagships from brands like OnePlus, iQOO, and others, the 15 Ultra is also expected to pack a 6,200mAh battery. We can expect the rumor mill to leak more details of the upcoming flagship soon, so stay tuned for regular updates.
