T-Mobile has been in the news lately but for all the bad reasons. Last month, there were reports about some T-Mobile stores selling used phones as new. Also, several consumers of the telco filed lawsuits over price hikes on some plans in the same month. Most recently, a report suggested that the company was forcing customers to buy accessories. Now, a rep fired from T-Mobile’s authorized retailer has reported some scammers-type activities.

A fired T-Mobile authorized retailer representative claims to have proof of scamming activities

A fired T-Mobile authorized retailer representative has posted about the possible scammers-type activities on Reddit. The user says the retailer fired him for having low sales numbers or performance. He claims that the members of his team who have better numbers were “giant scammers”. He claims encouragement from the management to “cram” user accounts with unauthorized sales to grow the numbers.

Notably, he claims that his T-Mobile dealer code was frequently used by his team members without his knowledge to scam customers. He could get accused of committing fraudulent activities for which he wasn’t even responsible.

Furthermore, the fired retailer employee claims to have collected data on the fraudulent activities at the retail store. “I have collected a LOT of evidence and documentation of this. I am considering taking the whistleblower route. Seems these scamming tactics go at least 2 levels above store manager. Is it worth it?”, he mentioned in the Reddit post.

A lot of Reddit users who replied to the post advised the fired sales rep to do something about these scamming activities. One Reddit subscriber with the user name Gheatoy said, “It is the essence of T-Mobile now. They’re gonna come out and say “oh noooo don’t do that! You need to advocate for the customer!” Then punish you when you don’t outright commit fraud”.

T-Mobile’s authorized retailers have a history of fraudulent scamming activities

It is not the first time we have heard of shady activities happening at T-Mobile’s authorized retailers. There were accusations against Arch Telecom earlier this year.

Arch Telecom representatives were accused of adding accessories to a customer’s account without their authorization. Arch Telecom released a statement recently and promised to get back to the ethical path.
