Samsung just introduced a new budget phone with a large battery and a 90Hz display. The device in question is the Samsung Galaxy F14, and the phone was announced in India.
The Galaxy F14 is Samsung’s brand-new budget smartphone
The main selling point with this phone is its price, of course. That’s usually the case when it comes to the Galaxy F series devices. The device comes in one variant, with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, and it’s priced at INR8,999 ($107).
You can’t really expect a whole lot for that price, can you? Still, some specs on this phone are rather appealing. Before we get to it, however, let’s talk about the phone’s looks.
The Galaxy F14 has a flat display with a dewdrop notch at the top. That’s your first indication this is a budget phone. The second one is its ‘chin’ below the display, that bezel is thicker than the rest.
All the physical buttons sit on the right-hand side, while the frame is flat all around. The phone’s backplate is flat, and there are three vertically aligned cameras there.
It has a 90Hz display, three cameras, and a 5,000mAh battery
In regards to specs, the Snapdragon 680 SoC fuels the phone. A 6.7-inch fullHD+ (2400 x 1080) LCD display is included here, with a 90Hz refresh rate.
Android 14 comes pre-installed on the phone, along with Samsung’s One UI 6.1 skin. There are two SIM card slots here (2x nano SIM), and an additional slot for a microSD card.
A 5,000mAh battery can be found inside of the phone. The Galaxy F14 supports 25W wired charging. A fingerprint scanner is embedded inside the power/lock button on the right side.
This handset has a single speaker, and it’s a bottom-firing one. There is an audio jack included on the phone too, though. Bluetooth 5.2 is supported here, while the device also supports Dual 4G VoLTE.
A 50-megapixel main camera (f/1.8 aperture) is backed by a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro camera (f/2.4 aperture). A single 13-megapixel camera (f/2.0 aperture) sits on the front.
