The Google Pixel 8a is currently discounted to $399 at Amazon. That’s a savings of $100 off of the regular price, and honestly, I’d say that is the price it should have been the whole time. At $500, it was really close to the regular Pixel 8, which had a lot of upgrades over the Pixel 8a. But now that it’s $399, it makes it a really great deal for students going back to school.
With the Google Pixel 8a, you’re getting a great phone at $500, but even better at $400. This phone is sporting a 6.1-inch 120Hz 2000nit peak brightness display. It is powered by the Tensor G3 processor, with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage – there is a 256GB model available for $60 more.
Google kept the same 64-megapixel primary sensor and 13-megapixel ultrawide that the Pixel 7a had last year. Which is not a surprise, as Google does typically keep the same sensors for a few years. As it really puts a lot of faith into its computational photography.
With the Pixel 8a, Google is offering this phone in four colors. That’s Aloe, Bay, Obsidian, and Porcelain. Unfortunately, only the Obsidian color is available in the 256GB model.
Over the last few years, the a-series has managed to win the blind camera test among all of the other flagships released in that year. So we expect this to be the same this year. Making this an incredible option for the price.
