Leaks have been pretty fierce for the Pixel 9 series this week, and now we’re seeing another sort of leak. Android Authority was sent an image of someone using the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, with Google’s official case, in the wild. It looks a lot like all of the leaks (and Google’s own teasing of the device), so this is likely an almost finished version.
In this image, we can see that the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is being propped up, in a Starbucks location in Taiwan. Given that this is a foldable, it’s no surprise that this was recognized in the wild, seeing as not too many people have foldables.
One thing we can see from this image is, with the official case, the camera bump is now flush with the back of the phone. That’s great to see, since the camera module is now a square on one side of the device, instead of a bar that stretches across the device like the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro.
Google’s Pixel 9 Pro Fold looks pretty thin, even in this case
Even with this case on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the device does look pretty thin when unfolded. That’s somewhat surprising since this is likely the same silicon case that Google has been making for the past few years, and it is quite chunky. But we do know that this one is much thinner than the original Pixel Fold, so we’re excited to see it in person in about 11 days.
Earlier this week, pricing leaked for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, which is set at $1,799. This means that while Samsung did increase its pricing, Google is sticking with the same price this year. That’s definitely good to see. We’ll know what’s left, of the details on August 13, when Google officially unveils the new Pixel lineup.
