The hype around Samsung’s next-gen mobile flagships is starting to build. Past leaks have revealed some of its specs and features. Now, a Samsung executive has hinted at key areas of the Galaxy S25 series that will get notable upgrades.

It seems that the South Korean giant is planning major improvements in several specs for the Galaxy S25. In recent years, Samsung has been conservative when it comes to upgrades, which has made it lag behind other big names. However, the next devices in the Galaxy S line could show a slightly different approach.

Samsung’s executive confirms “top-of-the-line upgrades” for the Galaxy S25 series

Daniel Araujo, Vice President of Samsung MX, spoke to the company’s shareholders during the second quarter earnings call. Regarding the Galaxy S25 series, Araujo said that areas such as camera, display, SoC, RAM, and AI will get “top-of-the-line upgrades.” Interestingly, the executive’s words seem to confirm the rumored Galaxy S25 RAM bump.

The improvements in camera and display were to be expected considering we’re talking about Samsung. The company has its own divisions dedicated to developing and manufacturing some of the best displays and image sensors on the market. However, it will be interesting to see if there will be a big jump from the previous generation. Araujo’s words invite us to be optimistic about it.

According to leaks, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will arrive with a 200 MP main camera, a 50 MP telephoto camera (3x optical zoom), a 50 MP periscope camera (5x optical zoom), and a 50 MP ultra-wide camera. Regarding the chip, the company will maintain the dual strategy, implementing the Exynos 2500 in most markets and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in others.

Google helping to develop AI with natural language understanding

Plus, it seems that Samsung continues to work hand in hand with Google for the development of its AI features. The company debuted its Galaxy AI suite earlier this year alongside the Galaxy S24 series. According to Araujo, Google is helping Samsung implement “a natural conversation and experience across [its] devices.” So, the company is also working on AI services with better contextual understanding.

The Galaxy S25 series is expected to launch in early 2025. Currently, the company is working on the One UI 6.1.1 rollout and One UI 7.
