Samsung is on a roll today. It has released the stable Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update to not one or two, but three different devices. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 picked up the big update earlier today. Now, the Galaxy S20 series and the Galaxy Note 20 series have joined the fun. Samsung also today resumed the stable One UI 4.0 update for the Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Z Flip 3. Moreover, it released the new version to these devices in more international markets as well. Feels like the company is in a festive mood.
As of this writing, the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, Galaxy S20 Ultra, Galaxy S20 FE, Galaxy Note 20, and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra are receiving the stable One UI 4.0 update in Switzerland. But the rollout should soon reach units in other territories as well. Hopefully, Samsung has tested the new software package extensively for any bugs. It wouldn’t be nice to see if the company has to halt the update due to issues, not to mention users’ suffering.
If you recall, the initial stable builds of One UI 4.0 for the Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Z Flip 3 were full of bugs. They caused numerous issues on these devices, forcing Samsung to temporarily suspend the rollout. The company has since fixed those issues and resumed the update.
Samsung releases stable One UI 4.0 to more Galaxy devices
Samsung has significantly improved its software game in recent years. And the stable One UI 4.0 update for the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Note 20 series is another proof of it. With the latest additions, the Korean behemoth has released the big update to six Galaxy smartphones/series. The Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, and Galaxy Z Fold 2 are the other four. By comparison, the company had seeded the stable One UI 3.0 to only three phones by the end of last year: Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy Note 20 series, and Galaxy Z Flip.
Nonetheless, if you’re using any of Samsung’s Galaxy S20 or Galaxy Note 20 phones, you can now be on the lookout for the stable One UI 4.0 update in the coming days. As always, you should receive a notification about the OTA (over the air) update once it becomes available for your phone. You can also manually check for updates from the Settings app, under the Software update menu.
Samsung is also currently beta testing One UI 4.0 for the Galaxy Z Flip, Galaxy S10 series, and Galaxy Note 10 series. We will let you know when the stable update rolls out to these devices.
