Samsung is having some troubles with its Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update lately. The company has had to suspend the stable rollout a couple of times over the past few weeks due to unexpected issues. And while the stable update for the Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Z Flip 3 remain suspended, it’s continuing beta testing the new software for other phones. The Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 phones are receiving a new One UI 4.0 beta build today. This is the third beta update for the 2019 Samsung flagships.
The latest One UI 4.0 beta release for the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, and Galaxy S10 5G comes with build version ZULB. The build version for the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+ is ZULD. According to the official changelog, the devices are receiving a bunch of bug fixes and improvements with this update. Among them is a fix for an issue that prevented photos from saving in the gallery when captured using Dual Messenger.
An earlier One UI 4.0 beta build for the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 phones caused a system slowdown when a notification arrives. Samsung has fixed this issue as well. The company has also fixed a connection issue with the AKG N400 TWS earbuds. Other changes include a fix for files with Korean names not appearing in My Files and the Gallery app.
As usual, this update is currently available to users in South Korea. But it shouldn’t be long before the rollout arrives in other regions, including the US. Samsung may release one more One UI 4.0 beta to the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 series before seeding the stable update. Or maybe it’s the last. We shall find that out soon.
The Galaxy S20 series may receive the stable One UI 4.0 update next
As said before, Samsung has already released the stable One UI 4.0 update to the Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Z Flip 3, though the rollout is suspended currently. The Galaxy S20 series could be the next in the pipeline. A beta operations manager on the company’s official community forums in South Korea has recently confirmed that the 2020 flagships will not receive any more beta builds. They will receive the stable update next. The Galaxy Note 20 series could follow suit soon after.
Samsung is also beta testing One UI 4.0 for the Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Z Flip, and Galaxy Z Flip 5G. We expect all these devices to receive the stable update by the end of January 2022. We will let you know when the rollouts begin.
