Hulu is one of the most popular streaming services right now, and it’s supported across a plethora of different devices. However, according to 9To5Google, some Galaxy Z Fold 3 users are finding that their phones are not compatible with the app.
The Hulu app can’t be downloaded on some Galaxy Z Fold 3 devices
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is a pretty popular device, which is why it’s weird that Hulu seemingly dropped compatibility. The Galaxy Z Fold phones are notable for their ability to unfold and reveal a larger display. This is good for those who want to be able to watch content on a bigger display.
However, when looking on the Google Play Store, users are finding that they can’t even download the app itself. They get the “This app is not compatible with your device anymore” message. This means that this is a sudden change of heart on Hulu’s part, as the app was compatible at some point.
Hulu hasn’t made any statements as to why this has happened. It’s tough to tell if this is a major change or just an error on the company’s part. This isn’t happening for all of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 users, as some people can still use the app.
There’s not much information on which phones are being affected by this, specifically. Since One UI 4 is out and about, it could be a possible cause. Those using that software version may be experiencing this, but that’s only speculation. Until we get information on more cases, it’s anyone’s guess.
Hulu: Prices and content
If you don’t own a Galaxy Z Fold 3, then Hulu is definitely a streaming option you can use. It’s not as big as Netflix, but there’s still a lot of great content for the price.
It has several price tiers with different sets of features. First, there’s the basic ad-supported tier that will cost you $6.99/month. You’ll get ads before and during the content you’re watching. They occur as much as ads on regular TV, but they’re not as long.
If you don’t want to watch ads, then you can get the $12.99/month tier. With this one, you’ll be able to watch your content and it will be mostly ad-free. It’ll bum most people out that you’re paying basically twice as much to still get ads.
There are some more expensive tiers that get you additional services. For $69.99/month, you’ll get Hulu + Live TV with Disney+ and ESPN added in. For $75.99/month, you’ll get those services, but Hulu will have reduced ads.
