So you might be aware of what the new software package brings. If not, you can our coverage with the full changelog. Of course, the availability of these features will vary by the device model, but you get the gist. Most of the new goodies are for all Galaxy devices. Foldable phones also get a bunch of exclusive features that leverage their unique form factor to enhance productivity.
Samsung releases the stable One UI 4.0 update to the Galaxy Z Fold 2
Samsung didn’t have a smooth ride with the stable One UI 4.0 update for its devices. The big update for the Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and the Galaxy Z Flip 3 had to be temporarily suspended twice over the past few weeks due to bugs. But the company has since fixed those issues and resumed the rollout for all those devices. It has now released the update to the Galaxy Z Fold 2 as well.
As always, you should receive a notification once the OTA update becomes available for your Galaxy foldable. You can also manually check for updates from the Settings app. Simply navigate to the Software update menu and tap on Download and install. Note that since it is a major Android update, the OTA package weighs well over 2GB. So you might want to connect your phone to a stable Wi-Fi network before downloading the update to avoid incurring unwanted cellular data charges.
