Amazon’s second-generation Fire TV Stick 4K Max is currently on sale for $33.99. Normally, this is priced at $59.99, so that makes this a pretty sweet deal. However it is only available for Prime members, since Prime day is starting tomorrow. You can sign up for a free 30-day trial of Prime, if you’re not already a member. Students get six months free.
I reviewed the Fire TV Stick 4K Max back in October and came to the conclusion that it’s the best streaming device under $100; however, right now, it is actually under $40. This makes it an even more insane value.
With this second-generation Fire TV Stick 4K Max, Amazon has doubled the storage, so now you’re getting 16GB. That’s still not a lot, but it is a significant upgrade from the 8GB on every other Fire TV Stick before. Amazon has also included a new 2GHz quad-core processor, along with support for WiFi 6E. These are all significant upgrades, making it faster and giving you faster WiFi speeds on the Fire TV Stick 4K Max.
On top of that, it also still has all of the usual software features that come with Fire TV. That includes access to your favorite apps, like Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Hulu, etc. Amazon has also brought over its Ambient Experience from the Fire TV sets, allowing you to have an excellent screen saver with different widgets being shown. This is a fantastic feature and something I use all the time.
