Dozens of South Korea’s most popular influencers will be competing against each other in Netflix’s latest reality competition series, The Influencer. Here’s everything we know so far.
The Influencer is an upcoming South Korean Netflix Original reality competition series co-directed and produced by Lee Jae-seok and Son Soo-jeong.
What is The Influencer?
Netflix has provided the logline for The Influencer:
“The 77 participants boast a combined total of 120 million followers across platforms like YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and AfreecaTV. From first-generation famous creators to Gen Z TikTokers with solid global fanbases, these influencers will face various challenges to earn the coveted title of “the best influencer.”
Which influencers will be taking part in the series?
Of the 77 participants we currently know the names of seven influencers taking part;
- Xiajiu – Tik Tok – 27.5 Million followers.
- Jang Geun-seok – Instagram – 645K followers.
- Risabae – Instagram/YouTube – 883K followers and 2.23 million subscribers.
- Pani Bottle – Instagram/YouTube – 296.5K followers and 2.27 million subscribers.
- Jin Yong-jin – Instagram/YouTube – 15.6k followers and 2.68 million subscribers.
- Shim Euddeum – Instagram/Youtube – 787k followers and 1.69 million subscribers.
- Daedo Library.
Lee Jae-seok, the series producer, had the following to say about his vision for The Influencer;
“I thought it would be interesting to gather influencers, divided by algorithms, in one place. You’ll see the top influencers in Korea and experience unique entertainment through the large scale and visuals that only Netflix can deliver, along with never-before-seen social survival missions.”
