Samsung is on a roll today. It has released a new software update to as many as five devices. No, it’s not the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 yet, but the Galaxy S20 FE 5G, Galaxy A71, Galaxy A32 5G, Galaxy Tab S6, and the Galaxy Tab Active 3 are all now receiving the December 2021 Android security patch in various parts of the world.

As of this writing, the Galaxy S20 FE 5G is picking up the new SMR (security maintenance release) in Spain. But it shouldn’t be long before the rollout expands to other regions. The update is rolling out with firmware version G781BXXS4CUL3. The 4G variant of the phone received this month’s security patch last week.

The Galaxy A71 is also first receiving the December update in Europe. It is now available to users in several European countries, including the Czech Republic, Germany, and the UK. More markets will join the party in the coming days. The update bumps the firmware version of the mid-ranger to A715FXXS8BUL1.

The Galaxy A32 5G, meanwhile, is picking up the latest security patch in the US. The update is now rolling out on most wireless carriers, including AT&T, Cellular South, Comcast, C-Spire, T-Mobile, Verizon, and Xfinity Mobile. It should also be available on the remaining few carriers in the coming days. The new firmware version for the phone is A326U1UES6AUL1.

Next up, Samsung has released the December update to the Galaxy Tab S6. The 2019 flagship Android tablet from the Korean company is receiving the new SMR with firmware version T865XXS5CUL1. The update is currently rolling out in Germany, with more markets to follow.

Lastly, the Galaxy Tab Active 3 is also joining Samsung’s December security update party today. The rugged tablet is receiving the new update in the UAE, bearing the firmware version T575XXU3BUL2. As with all other updates, the rollout for this device should also reach more countries over the next few days.

The latest update for these Samsung devices only brings security fixes

Samsung isn’t rolling out any major new features to these five devices with the latest update. All of them are receiving the privacy and security fixes for December 2021 and that’s pretty much it. The company is keeping all the new features for the Android 12-based One UI 4.0. The Galaxy S20 FE, Galaxy A71, Galaxy A32 5G, and Galaxy Tab Active 3 are all eligible for the Android 12 update. The Galaxy Tab S6 may end life on Android 11 though.

Nonetheless, if you own any of these Samsung devices, you can be on the lookout for a new software update in the coming days. As always, you can check for updates by navigating to SettingsSoftware update and tapping Download and install.
