Reports over the past few weeks have suggested that the Samsung Galaxy S22 lineup would launch by February 8. We’re now learning through a tipster that Samsung has delayed the release of the Galaxy S22 lineup by at least a week due to a “significant supply chain issue.”

The revelation comes from Jon Prosser on Twitter, who has already revealed plenty of information about Samsung’s early 2022 flagship. He claims that the pre-order for the Galaxy S22 will now commence on February 9, 2022, while availability is delayed by a week to February 25, 2022. It’s worth noting that Prosser is citing unnamed “sources” here, so we don’t have official confirmation yet.

Older reports said that the Galaxy S22 lineup would go up for pre-order on February 8. Meanwhile, official availability was scheduled for February 18.

The Galaxy S21 FE could launch a day sooner

Prosser also said on the same Twitter thread that the Galaxy S21 FE would arrive a day sooner on January 3. However, the device would still be available by January 11, as per the tipster. We’ll keep an ear to the ground for more information on the two upcoming Samsung smartphones.

As for the Galaxy S22, there’s very little mystery left at this point. A recent leak indicated that Samsung could utilize a revamped thermal management system for the Galaxy S22 Ultra, especially in comparison to its predecessor.

While the Galaxy S21 Ultra can bring up overheating warnings while playing titles like Genshin Impact, the Galaxy S22 Ultra reportedly doesn’t have this problem. This could be due to the new thermal management system, although we’re yet to see it in action.

The overheating test was performed on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 variant of the Galaxy S22 Ultra. There’s still some skepticism about heat dissipation on the Exynos 2200 version of the new flagship. This is partly due to the onboard AMD GPU, which brings advanced gaming features to the smartphone.

Another leak/rumor from this week claimed that all three variants of the Galaxy S22 would feature a glass rear panel. By comparison, the standard Galaxy S21 model sports a polycarbonate rear panel. Samsung will reportedly continue to offer the base model of the Galaxy S22 for $800, much like its predecessor.
