Most Anticipated New Titles on Netflix This Week
Trigger Warning (2024)
Coming to Netflix: Friday
Jessica Alba returns to Netflix for her second feature film (big bonus points if you guessed her first – it was El Camino Christmas) with her playing the role of Parker in this action thriller.
Parker is a special forces commando who has inherited a bar after her father passes away suddenly. She soon realizes she’s going to have to put her skillset into use when a local violent gang shows up on her doorstep.
Fans of The Night Agent will want to check this out while waiting for season 2 of the show, given that Gabriel Basso plays a key role in the film.
The Lego Batman Movie (2017)
Coming to Netflix: Wednesday
For those looking for something animated this week, Netflix is getting the license for a fixed period is the 2017 Chris McKay-directed movie The Lego Batman Movie.
Featuring the voices of Will Arnett, Michael Cera and Rosario Dawson, the movie sees you following Bruce Waynes as he deals with multiple villains all vying for control of Gotham City.
Of course, with the release of this animated LEGO movie, you can now have a LEGO movie marathon, given that the 2014 movie from Phil Lord and Christopher Miller dropped on Netflix in the United States on June 1st.
Dexter (Seasons 1-8)
Coming to Netflix: Wednesday
Rounding out our highlights, we’re happy to report (as we first did last month) that Netflix in the United States will be joining all international regions in acquiring all 96 episodes of the Michael C. Hall Showtime series.
The crime drama series, which has since had numerous sequels and an upcoming prequel since it first aired between 2006 and 2013, tells the story of Dexter Morgan, a Miami Metro PD blood spatter analyst who has a dark past that causes him to want to kill but does so to a strict code set up by his father.
