Xiaomi will allegedly launch its new flagship smartphone series on December 28, the Xiaomi 12 series. This information comes from a well-known tipster, Ice Universe.

The tipster basically revealed that while responding to another tipster on Twitter. The Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro are almost certainly coming, and the ‘Lite’ variant is also expected.

The Xiaomi 12 flagship smartphone will allegedly launch on December 28, alongside MIUI 13

That’s not all that Xiaomi is expected to launch during that event, though. MIUI 13 will likely become official as well, a brand new version of Xiaomi’s Android skin.

The Xiaomi 12 actually surfaced a couple of days ago. It appeared in CAD-based renders, which are probably accurate, or at least close to accurate. The Xiaomi 12 will, surprisingly, be a rather compact handset.

The device will feature a 6.2-inch display, and measure 152.7 x 70 x 8.6mm (11.5 including the camera bump). That is a great call by Xiaomi, as it will have something to offer to both types of users.

Smartphones are quite huge these days, in general, and there are not many compact options, especially when it comes to flagship phones. The Xiaomi 12 may be one such phone, presuming it will offer flagship-grade specs.

The Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro are coming, and possibly the Xiaomi 12 Lite as well

The vanilla Xiaomi 12 will be inferior to the Xiaomi 12 Pro, but we’re not sure how much of a difference will there be. Both devices are expected to ship with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, but the ‘Pro’ model will likely include more powerful cameras, and a better display, amongst other things.

Let’s hope Xiaomi will include a 120Hz panel on both smartphones, and the same goes for LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 flash storage. Fast charging will be included on both smartphones, and hopefully fast wireless charging as well.

The Xiaomi 12 will include a display camera hole, as you can see above. The ‘Pro’ model may ship with an under-display camera. The chances of that are not too high, but it’s either that, or a display camera hole like the Xiaomi 12.
