The benchmarks for the Google Pixel 9 with Tensor G4 chipset have leaked. The test results are quite impressive even though the latest SoC (System on a Chip) from Google has fewer cores than the Tensor G3 chipset.
Google Pixel 9 Tensor G4 AnTuTu benchmark leak
Google hasn’t been able to protect its Pixel series smartphones. The Google Pixel 9 design popped up recently as CAD-based renders. It was followed by real-life images of the device. Hence, the physical shape and form of the Google Pixel smartphones isn’t a well-guarded secret.
A new leak seems to have confirmed that the upcoming Google Pixel smartphones will pack the latest Tensor G4 chipset. Leaked AnTuTu scores for the Pixel 9 phones, if true, are quite impressive. As evident from previous leaks, Google is expected to launch the Pixel 9, 9 Pro, and 9 Pro XL.

According to benchmark test results posted by Rozetked, AnTuTu scores for the Pixel 9 phones range from 1.07 million to 1.17 million points. As expected, the Pixel 9 Pro XL has the highest score among the three devices.
For comparison, the Pixel 8 base model could manage around 900,000 points. Simply put, the in-house developed Tensor G4 chipset has allowed the Pixel smartphones to score more than a million points in AnTuTu, which could be a primary talking and marketing point.
Will the Google Tensor G4 chipset beat Qualcomm’s flagship SoC?
If the leaked benchmarks are true, the Tensor G4 features an 8-core configuration. It packs a single prime-performance Cortex-X4 CPU running at 3.1 GHz. There are three high-performance Cortex-A720 CPUs clocked at 2.6 GHz and four Cortex-A520 efficiency cores clocked at 1.95 GHz.
Incidentally, the previous generation Google Tensor G3 chipset featured a 9-core configuration. However, despite the reduction in cores, the performance of the chipset has soared. This could be due to Google’s optimizations.
The Tensor G4 SoC seems to match up well with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which is the current flagship chipset. However, several smartphones should launch with the next-gen Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset soon after Google announces the Pixel 9. This means Google’s flagship Pixel 9 smartphone may continue to trail behind other Android flagships, at least in terms of raw performance.
