Gaming laptops don’t have to come with a super high price tag so if you’re shopping on a smaller budget, consider the MSI Bravo that Best Buy has on sale right now. It normally costs $1,000 at full retail price but Best Buy is knocking $200 off the laptop, and that brings the price down to $800. That’s a pretty respectable discount for a new gaming laptop with decent specs. Especially if you’re into more casual gaming or don’t need to max out graphics settings.
This model of the MSI Bravo comes with a GeForce RTX 4050 GPU inside and that’s a great start. The RTX 4050 isn’t NVIDIA’s top-end graphics card but it’s still plenty powerful for gaming on a laptop. And it’s a 40-series GPU and that means it supports DLSS 3. That alone is going to make a big difference because of the improved refresh rate you can get in your games. It’ll also help you be able to turn the graphics up a little bit. While doing so might lower your frame rate some, you can use the DLSS 3 settings to boost the frame rate back up a little.
In addition to the RTX 4050 GPU, the MSI Bravo also features 15.6-inch 144Hz refresh rate display, 16GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD for game storage, and the AMD Ryzen 5-7535HS CPU. Naturally, it comes with Windows 11. More importantly, though, it has an RGB backlit keyboard which is excellent for playing games in darker spaces. If you play games later at night for example, you’ll never have to worry about not seeing the keys. The WASD keys are also fully backlit through the whole key, while the others light up from the edge and the characters on the keys.
This helps differentiate the WASD keys and should make it harder to accidentally hit the wrong one. There are plenty of ports too.
