Alien Isolation has been a SEGA title that stuck out for its overall creepy atmosphere. It’s a far cry from Sonic, and it finally made its way to mobile devices. What’s interesting is that SEGA is promising an experience that’s virtually indistinguishable from the console version of the game.
What is this game all about?
Alien Isolation is a survival-thriller that was developed by SEGA and released in 2014. It originally launched on the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC gaming platforms. The game received generally favorable reviews for its visuals, story, and gameplay.
The story follows Amanda Ripley, daughter of Ellen Ripley. The flight recording from Ellen’s last flight popped up, and Amanda wants to know what happened to her mom. She, along with some other personnel, go to investigate the space station where the flight recording is held.
While investigating the station, the crew finds that they’re not alone. Hiding among the ship is a Xenomorph. The game mostly revolves around avoiding and combating this alien and escaping the station.
This game stands out because of its M rating. SEGA, being the company that gave us Sonic The Hedgehog, Super Monkey Ball, Samba De Amigo, and other lighthearted franchises, doesn’t make mature titles too often.
Now, Alien Isolation is on mobile devices
SEGA made the decision to bring Alien Isolation to mobile devices under the publishing of Feral Interactive. Today, this game is now on Android and iOS. When the company announced it, it said that the experience will be indistinguishable from the original console release. This is a bold claim, indeed.
SEGA indicated that it’s bringing the entire game to mobile without anything left out. This is a big feat and something that players will have to test once they get the game.
Based on the Play Store page, this will be a pretty exclusive and demanding game. For starters, only phones that are running Android 9 or later will be able to run it.
Also, SEGA put a list of compatible devices that can run this game. It includes Galaxy devices as old as the Galaxy S10, the Galaxy Note 10, and the Galaxy Tab S6. There’s also the Asus ROG Phone III, The Pixel 3/XL, Pixel 6/Pro, OnePlus phones as old as the 6T, and a handful of others.
If you really want to download this game, and your phone is compatible, you can get it here. It costs $14.99 to download. The actual app is only 113MB, but if this is the full game, you can expect some serious GBs of additional downloads.
