Netflix has another Turkish hit on its hands, with Thank You, Next (Kimler Geldi Kimler Geçti) receiving a thumbs-up for a second season just a couple of weeks after the romantic comedy debuted.
Debuting on May 9th, 2024 – the 8-episode first season focused on Leyla Taylan, a successful lawyer, taking over the high-profile divorce case of Tuba Tepelioğlu. Her opponent is Cem Murathan, a notorious womanizer with a history of divorces. Serenay Sarikaya headlines the cast alongside Hakan Kurtas, Metin Akdülger, Gülcan Arslan, and Boran Kuzum.
Although the reviews were mixed on the series (it only has a 5.6 on IMDb), the show’s performance clearly impressed those at Netflix to get the series an incredibly early season renewal. More on that in a second.
The renewal announcement came via Netflix’s social media account for Turkey on May 20th, in which you can see numerous cast members hold up two fingers with the caption:
“And I brought the expected news… Thank You, Next is returning with its 2nd season!”
How well is Thank You, Next Performing on Netflix?
For an international show, the series is performing well in its home territory of Turkey and internationally, including breaking into the top 10s in English-language countries.
Per FlixPatrol, the show has been featured in over 80 countries’ TV top 10s, and two weeks after its release, it remains in the top 5 in over 40 countries. It remains number 1 on the Turkish TV charts as of May 22nd.
That performance allowed the show to break into the global TV non-English charts in the first two weeks it’s been eligible. You can track the top 10s for the show here, but in the first two weeks, we can see the show had a strong start, debuting at number 3 and growing its viewing hours by 40% in week 2:

This impressive gain in viewership in week 2, in addition to the fact the show has demonstrated long legs in the top 10s in not only Turkey but other countries, makes a renewal a no-brainer.
This is one of several Turkish shows currently set to return for a new season at the streamer. Kubra and Another Self will release their second seasons in June and July 2024, respectively.
Elsewhere, Midnight at the Pera Palace, The Life and Movies of Erşan Kuneri, and Shahmaran will all be returning for second seasons with yet-to-be-confirmed release date windows.
Netflix’s other Turkish slate of Originals for 2024 also includes new series like Asaf and The Town, plus movies 10 Days of a Curious Man, The Gentlemen, and Berber.
