Yuto Suzuki’s Sakamoto Days is reportedly receiving an anime adaptation on Netflix and will be released on the streaming service sometime in 2024. Here’s what we know so far.
Sakamoto Days is an upcoming Japanese Netflix Original action-comedy anime series and adaptation of Yuto Suzuki’s manga. The manga began its serialization in November 2020 and has 16 published volumes, with 4 million copies in circulation as of November 2023.
At the time of writing, it’s unknown which animation studio is working on the adaptation, but we expect to learn more soon.
What is the plot of Sakamoto Days?
Tarou Sakamoto was once the most feared assassin of all time, but after meeting the love of his life, he chose to abandon his lucrative life of crime and now spends his days as a convenience store clerk.
Stunned and unconvinced by his change of career, Sakamoto’s former rivals and partners refuse to believe he has put his hitman days behind him and show up at the store intent on killing him. Sakamoto’s vow to stop killing means he has to find new and creative ways to stop his enemies to protect his family and store.

When is Sakamoto Days coming to Netflix?
Josh Simon, the Vice President of Netflix, recently gave an interview to License Global, in which Sakamoto Days was listed for release sometime in 2024.
Netflix has not officially announced that Sakamoto Days will come to the streaming service or given an official release date.
We’d expect to see Sakamoto Days land on Netflix sometime in late Q3 or Q4 of 2024.
