Star Wars Outlaws now has an official release date and Ubisoft has announced pre-orders, so you can jump in with both feet if you’re eagerly awaiting this gaming experience. Accompanying the release date is a brand-new trailer that shows a little bit more of the game. It’s the official story trailer so it dives a little deeper into the narrative. The trailer itself gives you just enough to get you hooked. But if you’re the type that likes to really dig in and learn more, Ubisoft has a developer breakdown video available as well that sheds more light on various aspects of the game.
Including new characters and syndicate details. The breakdown should be relatively spoiler-free, but if you like going into games knowing absolutely nothing, it might be best to avoid it. That being said, it can also be useful in providing perhaps a little bit of backstory on who you’ll meet in the game. It’s not a required watch but definitely recommended, as each of the game’s syndicates will have interactions with Kay Vess, the game’s main character. Ubisoft says that how you interact with these syndicates can shift parts of the game. For example, a certain decision may hinder you from picking up specific quests or alter the narrative.
It doesn’t say how vast these changes will be. But it can’t hurt to know a little bit about who you’re dealing with going in.
Star Wars Outlaws gets a release date of August 30, with pre-orders now live
At the end of the story trailer, Ubisoft finally reveals an official release date for the game. It was known that Star Wars Outlaws was coming later this year. But up until this week, Ubisoft hadn’t said exactly when the game would arrive. Star Wars Outlaws will officially release on August 30, and it’s coming to PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. It’ll also be available as part of Ubisoft+. So if you subscribe to that service via the PC platform, you’ll be able to play the game without buying it. In terms of where you can pre-order the game, PC players will need to buy it via Ubisoft Connect.
If you do happen to purchase it, you can also play it in the cloud via GeForce NOW. Which means mobile access using the GeForce NOW app (it’s also going to be on Luna). Whether you pre-order or play via GeForce NOW, you’ll also get a pre-order bonus called the Kessel Runner pack. This includes skins for your ship and speeder. Ubisoft+ players will also get the Ultimate Edition of the game which comes with extra goodies, including the Rogue Infiltrator bundle and a digital art book.
Other bonuses include 3 days of early access and the season pass for additional DLC content. These two things will also come with the Gold Edition pre-order, so you don’t need the Ultimate Edition for them if you’re planning to purchase the game.
