Today Acer has announced four new gaming laptops to add to its lineup for 2024, including the Predator Helios Neo 14. The four laptops being announced today split things down the middle in terms of the CPU powering the laptops. Two are running on Intel chips and these are the Predator Helios Neo 14 and the Nitro 16.
The two AMD laptops include another Nitro 16 and the Nitro 14. All of these are planned to launch in North America in May and in Europe in June. So if you’re on the hunt for a new gaming laptop, Acer has some options for you to check out. In terms of pricing, none of these new options are particularly expensive. And that’s likely because none of them are running with GPUs higher than an RTX 4070. In fact, three of the four new laptops come with an RTX 4060 GPU so they should be decent mid-range options for both casual gaming and some more hardcore sessions, but without a high price tag.
In terms of pricing, the Predator Helios Neo 14 will be the most expensive option, starting at $1,800. Next up are the two Nitro 16 models, which both start at $1,400. And finally, there’s the Nitro 14 which starts at $1,300. There will be some variance in pricing based on what configurations you get, as Acer will offer some choice in what the components are. But this is what you’re looking at for a jumping-off point.
The Predator Helios Neo 14 comes with the most AI features
Towards the end of last year, the industry started to see more and more AI features popping up in laptops. Those with NVIDIA RTX GPUs already have some AI advancements thanks to things like DLSS. But then Intel unveiled the Core Ultra CPUs and these add even more features to improve the user experience, specifically with battery life longevity, all powered by artificial intelligence. Acer has already announced some of these types of laptops before. And the Predator Helios Neo 14 is the latest to join the pack. It comes with up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor, along with up to an NVIDIA RTX 4070 which means you can get it with a less powerful card.
Keep in mind that the price listed above is not going to be for the RTX 4070 model. Additionally, it comes with a 165Hz refresh rate display at a 3072 x 1920 resolution, and WiFi 6E support. These can also come with up to 32GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.
As for the two Nitro models running with AMD CPUs, these can come with up to an RTX 4060 so lower-powered cards will be available as well, with a range of other spec options such as up to 32GB of RAM and up to 2TB of storage. One other good thing to note is that all of these models will come with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Buyers will get one month free to check out all of the available games on their new laptops.
