RedMagic has become pretty well-known in the mobile gaming community at this point for its more affordable gaming phones, but its next product, the VC Cooler 5 Pro, isn’t a phone. It’s a phone cooler attachment that promises to keep your device cool no matter how intense your gameplay gets. And the magic behind that according to RedMagic is the liquid cooling technology inside.
RedMagic is making some pretty bold claims here about how it works, noting that the VC Cooler 5 Pro is capable of cooling down a phone from 28 degrees Celsius to 0 degrees Celcius in just 30 seconds. This isn’t something we’ve tested, but if the cooling performance is accurate then it could seriously help you keep your phone cool while playing games. This is especially true over longer sessions which is when phones tend to get very warm.
Games like Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, Genshin Impact, or Honkai Star Rail would be good examples of these types of games. So in theory, with the VC Cooler 5 Pro attached to your device, you’d have sustained optimal performance for gaming.
The RedMagic VC Cooler 5 Pro is MagSafe compatible
There aren’t many phones out there that come with their own cooler attachment accessories. And, quite honestly that’s understandable, given that most phones aren’t designed as gaming-first devices. The phones that do come with a cooler, like the ROG Phone 8 Pro Edition, have coolers that only work for that one phone. This is where RedMagic has stepped in to create something that’s versatile and works with multiple device types. The VC Cooler 5 Pro is MagSafe compatible and works with iPhone 12 series phones all the way up to the iPhone 15 series.
The cooler comes with a magnetic attachment so you can stick it right onto the back of your phone. It also comes with a back clip attachment for other devices. So you can still use it even if MagSafe isn’t an option.
RedMagic says the overall cooling effect has increased by 50% compared to the last cooler accessory. Additionally, there’s the inclusion of a “floating air duct” that is supposed to prevent hand disruptions. RedMagic plans to sell the VC Cooler 5 Pro starting April 15 in North America, Europe, the UK, Mexico, and Singapore. It’ll be available in two options as well. One of which is a 2-in-1 kit that has the back clip. And that’s the model you’ll need if you want to use without the MagSafe. For US consumers, the VC Cooler 5 Pro will start at $59.
