Salesforce has a new group of AI tools to help doctors

On Thursday, Salesforce unveiled two new AI tools that will help doctors be more efficient at their jobs and avoid burnout. These tools are both built on Salesforce’s Einstein 1 platform.

The first tool is called Einstein Copilot: Health Actions. Not to be confused with Microsoft’s Copilot, Salesforce’s tool is like a general doctor’s assistant powered by AI. Using AI, this tool can book appointments, send referrals, and summarize patient information. This can all be done through prompts given through the AI. This feature could greatly speed up a doctor’s job. So, rather than digging through documents and setting appointments, all of that can be automated while the doctor has more time to spend with the patients.

The next feature is called Assessment Generation. This will allow doctors to create health assessments without having to produce them themselves. Manually making assessments can be a very time-consuming and labor-intensive task. Assessment Generation could take a load off of the doctors’ chests.

This is consistent with Salesforce’s focused AI approach. Rather than making general AI products like Google or OpenAI, it’s making specialized AI that is great at a certain set of tasks.

If you’re excited about using these products, you’re going to have to wait a bit. Salesforce said that doctors will be able to use its AI tools later this year. Assessment Generation will be available this summer, and Einstein Copilot: Health Actions will be available by the end of the year.
