On one hand, where brands like Samsung are rolling out the latest December 2021 security update, Verizon LG Velvet is now receiving the November 2021 security update.

However, looking at the current state of the LG, which by the way, has exited the smartphone business, there shouldn’t be any complaints from its users. Moreover, LG devices rarely get updated. So, this should come to you as a surprise.

Verizon LG Velvet is picking up the November update, which is the first update the device is receiving since September. The reason LG Velvet is still getting update support is that LG officially announced certain phones from the brand will continue to receive support.

So, it is nice to see LG is keeping its promise, even though the company does not exist in the mobile business anymore. LG exited the mobile business because it failed to register profits for quite a long time.

Coming back to LG Velvet, it was launched back in 2020. It came with Android 10 out of the box and later received the Android 11 update. Looking at the company’s side of things, the Android 12 update doesn’t seem to be rolling out for the device.

Verizon LG Velvet November security update carries a version number of RRVSG900VM20e

Those remaining users, who are still hanging onto their LG Velvet and are subscribed to Verizon, should be happy to receive the update. For them, according to Droid Life, the November 2021 security update is arriving with version number RRVSG900VM20e.

The November update simply fixes several security and privacy-related vulnerabilities and does not bring any new features for the phone.

Although the update is one month old, we recommend you update your phone with this update. We hope other high-end LG phones, including V60, Wing, and other high-end LG devices, should also be receiving similar updates in the future.

If you own the Verizon LG Velvet device, then you should receive the update via OTA. Not every device will pick up the update at the same time since it is rolling out gradually.

However, if you wish to manually check for the update, then you can do that by heading over to Settings > About Phone > Software updates > Check for update.

The system will begin looking for new updates. After the update is detected, you can hit the Download Now button to start the download process. After the download is complete, simply hit the Install Now button to update your phone with the latest security patch.
